As an E-commerce Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the company Shop UK, working closely with a dynamic internal and external team of service providers, E-commerce colleagues, category leads, and CRM experts to closely monitor sales and optimise performance. D2C consumer marketing. Your understanding of the market, customer, and Discover Brands and Franchises will help support the growth strategy. Partner management is one of the keys to success in this role.
Role Requirements:
- The E-commerce Manager will support the UK D2C strategy by having touch-points across numerous stakeholders within the business, agenda and proposition both internally and externally with our external Platform provider.
- Leading cross functional working groups, you will ensure best in class merchandising on the site, including product setup, pricing, and working with design Teams to deliver website creative on time.
- Hold regular planning meetings with Home Entertainment, Games, Consumer Products, customer marketing as well as external Teams and E-commerce platform providers.
- Lead weekly trade meetings; evaluating sales, stock & margin – ensuring revenue is maximised, and performance is continually evaluated to drive future benefit to the business.
- Maintain the rolling 12-month Trade Plan , ensuring all divisional voices are heard and that all product releases and Franchise & marketing campaigns are captured and accurate to facilitate effective planning, resulting in the right customer offer being delivered.
- Work with internal data experts and the Digital Marketing Teams to drive learning’s and social media engagement / led gen.
- Provide 2nd line customer support to help resolve customer queries on a range of matters related to product, shipping and returns amongst others.
- Maintain the Subscriber database, monitoring opt-ins and opt-outs, as well as ensuring the appropriate deletion of customers or subscribers wishing to have their personal data removed from company servers.
- Work closely with the Digital Marketing Team and external agencies to curate the Shop newsletter promoting the latest news and offers for opted-in Subscribers.
- Share Retail insights and learning’s not only from the online Shop, but from the wider e-commerce channel to support the growth ambitions as set out by the Head of E-commerce and UK Retail Director.
- Work within a dynamic sales and marketing environment using a cross-divisional team approach to develop new opportunities, supporting the broader E-commerce Strategic Plan.
- Feed into the post campaign analysis reviews alongside agencies, to evaluate campaign performance and ultimately provide recommendations for future activity.
Experience Required:
- Strong knowledge of E-comm : a good understanding of the market, trends, and technological advances / opportunities.
- Commercial Acumen : A sound understanding of how to translate brand & product creatives / visuals into a meaningful commercial proposition on the online Shop. Know how to Trade product, take learning’s, and plan future launches / campaigns.
- Financial Planning: An ability to project revenue forecasts when required to support the budgetary planning process.
- Retail Operational Experience : A sound understanding of retail operations; sales, stock, print-on-demand, dropship & profit margins.
- Self-Starter: Solid degree of personal energy, motivation, and ‘push’. Must have the ability to handle multiple tasks, and to work well under time constraints, changing schedules or priorities. Must be able to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Resilience: You are not afraid to fail fast, and establish new processes and ways of working – sharing learning’s, and driving progress within this relatively young business model.
- Excellent interpersonal skills : A strong communicator able to influence people at all levels within organisations.
- Ability to prioritise : determine priorities in a fluid environment, where individuals often must re-prioritise, based on business immediate needs.
- Operational excellence : must have the ability to organise and schedule work effectively. Requirement to ‘roll your sleeves up and make sure that the operational elements of a plan are executed faultlessly.
- Marketing literate : good understanding of the marketing mix, with a particular need for media and sales promotions experience and understanding.
- Strong presentation skills: commanding presence and excellent presentation skills. Polish and tact needed as prerequisites.
- Computer literate : able to function on a self-sufficient basis in Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook as well as specific E-commerce tools and platforms such as Shopify, Salesforce and internal & external IT systems and user portals.
PREFERRED BACKGROUND AND QUALIFICATIONS
Our client requires candidates with significant retail experience. The professional experience should span several of the areas below:
- Breadth of commercial experience – spanning multiple product areas – ideally within the licensing or entertainment fields.
- Retail – ideally you will have experience of Buying a product area. Be that within a trade planning function or Buying level.
- Marketing Planning and activation experience would be beneficial, as would account management / sales experience.
- Proven experience of working in a multi-cultural / matrix environment.
