PCI Support Services LLC (PCISS) is seeking an On-Call / Part-Time Modular Building & Facilities Maintenance Technician I to support maintenance operations for modular units at the Norfolk Naval Shipyard in Portsmouth, VA.
You’ll be responsible for responding to trouble tickets within 24 hours, performing assessments, conducting in-house repairs, or coordinating with subcontractors to resolve issues quickly and efficiently.
Reports To: PCISS Quality Assurance Manager: Megan ThompsonResponsibilities:
- Respond On-Call: Be available to report on-site promptly to assess and document issues.
- Assess & Repair: Diagnose issues and perform repairs related to:
- HVAC systems
- Roof/water intrusion (mate line issues)
- Electrical/power issues
- Ceiling/floor tile damage
- Doors, locks, and adjustments
- General modular unit maintenance
- Forklifts (including 36K models)
- Telehandlers
- Scissor lifts and manlifts
Job Requirements:
- Basic electrical and mechanical troubleshooting
- Understanding of Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) safety procedures
- Familiarity with OSHA/PCI/NNSY safety protocols
- Basic construction and carpentry skills (doors, light fixtures, tiles)
- General knowledge of fire alarm systems (e.g., Fire-Lite)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel), SmartSheets, basic timekeeping
- Strong communication and follow-up skills required
- Must be able to stand and lift up to 25lbs
Additional Requirements:
- Must be self-motivated and capable of working independently
- Must respond to service calls and schedule assessments within 24 hours of notification
- Must document all findings and repairs, and provide updates to the QA Manager
