Escalator Service Engineer

Role Overview

We are currently seeking an experienced escalator engineer to join our Transport for London team, covering our London Underground escalator portfolio. The priority is to ensure the safety of passengers and technical stakeholders by safely maintaining a portfolio of escalator units.

On a Typical Day You Will

• Carry out breakdown and repair work on all equipment across the site to achieve continual operation.
• Work within the London Underground network, managing the portfolio of escalators.
• Respond proactively and quickly to fix any breakdowns, aiming for first‑time fix.
• Liaise directly with the customer while on site to build a good working relationship.

What You Will Need To Be Successful

• Qualified to at least NVQ Level 3 Escalator Engineering with significant experience in service and maintenance of escalators.
• Experienced escalator engineer with in‑depth knowledge of a variety of brands of equipment.
• Valid UK driver’s licence.
• Flexibility is important and overtime may be required.
• Good mechanical and electrical engineering skills.
• Committed professional, with safety as a priority.
• Comfortable communicating to others.
• Curious, adaptable, and able to work alone or in a team.
• Comfortable using electronic and digital tools.
