A leading UK main contractor is seeking an experienced Construction Planner to join their London team. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of high-profile projects across the capital, playing a key role throughout the full project lifecycle—from tender stage through to final completion. The successful candidate will split their time between the company's London office and various project sites across the city, working closely with project teams to ensure robust planning, effective programme management, and successful project delivery. Projects cover a wide range of build sectors and are typically valued between £10-50m. This is an excellent opportunity offering a varied role with exposure to a wide range of projects and the chance to work alongside an experienced and supportive team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage construction programmes from tender through to completion
  • Work with pre‑construction teams to produce tender programmes and methodologies
  • Monitor progress, update programmes and highlight risks or delays
  • Provide planning support to project teams and senior stakeholders
  • Attend site and project meetings and contribute to delivery strategy

Requirements

  • Strong experience in construction planning gained within a UK main contracting environment.
  • Proven track record working on building projects from tender through to completion.
  • Excellent Asta Powerproject skills with the ability to develop and manage detailed programmes.
  • Strong commercial awareness and a good understanding of how construction projects are delivered.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both in an office environment and on site.
