Craneswater Junior School is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic Midday Assistants to work 5 hours per week. We are a \’good\’ school with well-behaved children and a very supportive staff in the heart of Southsea.

Hours are 12.10 am – 13.10 pm Monday – Friday, term time only, 39 weeks

Contract/Hours: 5 hours per week, term time only

Salary Details: Band 1, FTE £24,413, pro-rata £2,937

Required Start Date: As soon as possible

Closing Date: Ongoing

This is a busy and varied role requiring the successful candidate to supervise pupils during the lunchtime period. Our team of lunchtime staff work together sharing different duties over the week. Duties include:

• Supervising and assisting children in the dinner hall to collect, eat and clear away their meals
• Supervising and engaging children in play activities on the playground
• Ensuring children play together positively and co-operatively with good behaviour
• Administering first aid, and
• During periods of \’wet play\’ engage children in suitable classroom activities, ensuring classroom behaviour expectations are upheld.
