PCB Solicitors are seeking an experienced, highly organised and proactive Senior Legal Assistant to join our reputable Family Department at either our Shrewsbury or Telford office, with hybrid working to be discussed at interview. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong Family Law experience who is ready for greater responsibility and career progression within a supportive and reputable firm.
The ideal candidate will play a key role in supporting Family Lawyers with a varied caseload including divorce, financial matters, private children matters and cohabitation issues whilst delivering outstanding client care.

Job Responsibilities- Drafting legal documentation, court forms, statements and correspondence using the case management system with accurate time recording on client matters
- Supporting Lawyers with the day‑to‑day management of client files, operating with a high level of autonomy
- Preparing court bundles and liaising with courts, counsel and third parties
- Liaising with clients and contacts both on email and telephone with professionalism and empathy, acting as a primary point of contact
- Assisting with diary management, preparing bills, and completing administrative tasks
- Conducting in depth legal research to stay updated on relevant changes in Family law
- Attending client meetings with or on behalf of the Lawyer in charge, taking instructions on new matters
- Mentoring junior staff and supporting with departmental training
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage deadlines and multiple tasks at any one time
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Confident communication skills and a client‑focused approach
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team
- To retain high levels of confidential information with discretion
- Knowledge of legal and case management systems
- The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years’ experience as a Legal Assistant in Family law
- To have a strong understanding of family law procedures, court processes and document preparation is required
- Experience within a solicitors’ firm or legal services environment
Full Time, Part Time, Permanent.
Hours of WorkMonday to Friday, 35 hours per week full time. £25,500.00 – £28,000.00 FTE, depending on qualifications and experience.
