Legal Assistant – Residential Property – Shrewsbury

PCB Solicitors are seeking a highly organised and proactive Legal Assistant to join our reputable Residential Property Department at our Shrewsbury office.

This role is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience working in a support position, who has a strong interest in Property law, and is seeking career progression within a supportive department.

The ideal candidate will play a key role in supporting Property Lawyers with various matters including leasehold and freehold sale and purchases, re-mortgages, new builds and transfers of equity whilst delivering outstanding client care and administrative support.

  • Job Responsibilities
  • Drafting and preparing various types of legal documentation, completion statements and correspondence with supervision using the case management system,
  • Liaising with clients and contacts such as local Estate Agents and other third parties both on email and telephone with professionalism and empathy, acting as a primary point of contact,
  • Completing accurate time recording on client matters from the Lawyers instruction,
  • Assisting Lawyers with quoting for new enquiries and conducting searches through to dealing with registration of title and post completion formalities,
  • Assisting with diary management, preparing bills, and completing administrative tasks,
  • Conducting basic legal research to stay updated on relevant changes in Property law,
  • Supporting with client meetings and taking instructions from clients to revert to the Lawyers.

Essential Skills/Qualifications

  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage deadlines and multiple tasks at any one time,
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail,
  • Confident communication skills and a client‑focused approach,
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team,
  • To retain high levels of confidential information with discretion,
  • Knowledge of legal and digital case management systems such as SDLT and Land Registry is advantageous.

Experience

  • Experience in Residential Property law is essential,
  • Experience working in a similar role is preferred but not required as full training will be given.

  • Full Time, Permanent.
  • Hours of Work
  • Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week.
  • £23,300.00 to £27,000.00 FTE, depending on qualifications and experience.
