About the role
The person you will be supporting is a 42-year-old young lady who lives in her own house in Southampton and is supported on a 1 to 1 and 2 to 1 staff ratio.
Sarah has a diagnosis of autism, learning disabilities, mental health needs and is type 2 Diabetic.
She has an amazing sense of humour and really enjoys developing close relationships with her team’s member and enjoys physical contact.
Sarah is very active and will go for long walks to the beach, park and pub, it is essential that her Team Members enjoy walking and being outside for long periods of time.
She also enjoys, music and attending theatre, and going to the cinema to watch new releases. Sarah really likes animal and attends a local farm; she especially likes dogs.
Sarah need support with personal care, medication, meal preparation, shopping, cooking and being encouraged to try new things. She would like people to be patient and help develop her life skills and support live her best life.
She can struggle with her emotions and can get upset and confused very easily. it is essential to have team members who are able to identify when Sarah needs extra support and be kind, patient and empathic, with a positive approach during these times.
Sarah is very close with her family, and they have a big impact on her life, so it is vital you can help her continue those relationships.
