About the Role
Working within the Trust's Estates Services team, the purpose of the Tradesperson [Joiner] role is to carry out a wide range of planned and unplanned tasks, ensuring the safe, effective and economic installation and maintenance of the Trust's engineering systems and physical assets. You will install, maintain, service, fault find, diagnose, repair and reinstate into service a range of building elements, fixtures and fittings. You will be employed to work on equipment appropriate to their core specialist skills. You will be suitably trained to acquire elements of other trades skills with the intention of reaching levels of flexibility and competence to enable them to perform specific skill elements where appropriate.

Responsibilities
- Carry out a wide range of planned and reactive building maintenance and installation tasks in a safe, effective and economic manner.
- Carry out unplanned maintenance tasks which may include diagnosing and repairing faults for items such as, but not limited to:
- locking mechanisms for doors
- Ironmongery for doors (Handles, hinges, door closures, emergency release systems)
- Provide safe access to potential asbestos contaminated areas (above ceiling voids)
- Undertake planned maintenance checks for items such as, but not limited to:
- Building fabric and external ground condition surveys
- Fire compartment breaks, screens and doors
- Inspection of anti-ligature systems (e.g. windows, furniture, blinds, bedrails and bathroom fittings)
- Install and/or assemble items such as, but not limited to:
- Office furniture and accessories (Desks, notice boards, etc.)
- Washroom accessories (Mirrors, grab rails, soap dispensers, etc.)
- Wall impact protection/ hygiene cladding (corridors, clean rooms / showers)
- Respond to urgent reactive maintenance jobs such as, but not limited to:
- Temporary repairs to damaged windows and doors
- Roof leaks to a variety of roof types/systems and rainwater systems
- Broken or faulty drug cupboard security locks
Candidate Requirements
- Working knowledge and experience of carrying out joinery and building maintenance repairs.
- Working knowledge and experience in the use of woodworking machinery and hand/power tools.
- Working knowledge and experience of undertaking tasks of other engineering trade groups.
- Willing to undergo appropriate training if required.
- Working knowledge of maintenance activities in a healthcare building environment.
- Working knowledge and experience in the use of workshop machinery and hand/power tools.
- Working knowledge of electrical engineering building services.
- Working knowledge and experience of undertaking tasks of other trade groups.
