Senior Executive Search Consultant in Consumer, Retail & FMCG Executive Search.
Location: Manchester
Salary: £55,000-£65,000 basic plus commission. Package and level dependent on experience and track record.
There comes a point in most successful recruitment careers where the question changes. It stops being: "Can I bill more?" And becomes: "Do I still enjoy the work?" If you've built a strong billing record in consumer, retail, FMCG or a related market and you're tired of contingent firefighting, shrinking margins and clients who treat you like a job board, this is worth a conversation.
This is an established international executive search practice operating across more than 70 countries, partnering with global consumer brands, household names, private equity-backed businesses and high-growth challengers. Assignments typically sit between £150,000 and £500,000 salary level. Search fees regularly exceed £80,000 and experienced recruiters operate on a ratcheted commission structure of up to 33%, creating significant earning potential whilst working on fewer, higher-value assignments.
You won't be joining and expected to build from scratch. There are active retained assignments to work on from day one, across consumer products, retail and FMCG markets globally. You'll gain exposure to senior stakeholder relationships, international search projects and executive-level appointments whilst building your own market presence.
Several members of the team joined from traditional recruitment backgrounds. They didn't arrive knowing executive search. They arrived knowing their markets, understanding clients and building relationships. That's what transferred.
What they're looking for is straightforward:
- A recruiter with a credible billing history
- Strong commercial instincts
- The ability to build trust at senior level
Executive search experience is helpful but not essential. If you're billing £250k, £350k or £500k but finding the work less interesting than it used to be, this is a different way to apply what you've already built. Not a leap into the unknown. A logical next move.
Applications will only be considered if you have recruitment agency experience and the right to live and work in the UK with a good command of the English language.
PB Select Ltd is an employment agency operating within the Rec2Rec space. We welcome applications from suitably qualified candidates regardless of age, race, gender, or lifestyle.
If, after submitting your CV, you haven’t heard back within 3 days, please assume you’ve not been successful on this occasion – though we may be in touch regarding other opportunities in the future.
