About The Role: Reporting into the Chief Network Officer, the Global Head of NetDev and Strategic Partners will own and scale Paysend's global payments network end-to-end. You will drive both network expansion and relationship management excellence across banking partners, PSPs, global card schemes — Visa, Mastercard, China UnionPay and the direct participation into local payment schemes or/and wallets. You will lead a team of RM Directors alongside with the product team across its 3 pillars; Payins, Payouts, and Banking + Regulatory. Strategic planning is done as one Network team alongside the CNO. Company priorities are funneled through a Network-led prioritization process that you will help shape and execute.
What You'll Do (Responsibilities):
- Own the entire end to end lifecycle of Network requirements to launch
- Lead the hunt, evaluation, and onboarding of new banking partners, PSPs, APMs, and local rails to expand global coverage, improving unit economics as well as a balance of full redundancy
- Own commercial and contract negotiations from term sheet to go-live
- Drive strategy and execution for direct participation in local payment schemes where it creates strategic advantage — e.g. BLIK, SEPA, FPS…
- Manage principal relationships with global card schemes: Visa, Mastercard, China UnionPay
- Manage principal relationships with global strategic banks
- Build the business case, regulatory plan, and operational readiness for direct scheme access in priority markets
- Lead, coach, and scale a team of RM Director across AMER, EMEA, and APAC
- Implement a world-class RM excellence framework: QBRs, partner scorecards, SLAs, escalation paths, and health metrics
- Drive continuous improvement in partner performance across cost per transaction, uptime, FX, settlement terms, and feature adoption
- Act as senior executive sponsor for Tier-1 strategic partners and own high-impact escalations
- Ensure all partnerships meet Regulatory, Compliance, Legal, Risk, and Treasury requirements
- Partner daily with the Network Product team
- Translate partner capabilities into product requirements and go-to-market plans
- Feed market and partner intelligence back into the Network prioritization process
- Contribute to Network department strategy alongside the CNO
- Help run the Network-led priority process that funnels company-wide priorities into an executable network roadmap
- Own the P&L impact of network costs, deliver annual savings & routing optimization targets alongside product
- Represent Paysend at scheme forums, industry bodies, and strategic partner summits
- Own the Processes + Procedures of everything Network
- Own and manage the Critical incidence escalation process
- Own and manage Risks and controls around our Network and providers
What You’ll Need To Be Successful In This Role:
- 10+ years in payments/fintech/banking, 5+ years leading global network or partnership teams
- Direct experience negotiating with Banks, PSPs and/or Visa, Mastercard, or China UnionPay at scheme level, with Existing C level network
- Track record of securing, direct access or sponsorship to local payment schemes like SEPA, BLIK, Faster Payments, etc.
- Deep expertise in cross-border payments, card rails, A2A, and local payout methods
- Experience building and leading senior RM/Partnership Director teams globally
- Strong commercial acumen + regulatory fluency for licensing and scheme rules
- Launched products requiring deep scheme and/or banking and payment/FX integration
- Needs to be strategic & hands‑on setting direction and goals
- An Influencer, commanding respect with partners, regulators, and scheme boards
- Cross-functional operator who thrives partnering with Product, Regulatory, Treasury, legal, commercial and execs
- Total ownership who treats the network like a product, ships improvements, measures impact, improves process and GRC
- Manager to lead a team of RMs, for their company goals & initiatives as well as their personal growth
