The Events Specialist II plays a key role in the planning, coordination, and execution of marketing-driven events that enhance brand visibility, engage target audiences, and support business objectives. This mid-level role requires strategic thinking, attention to detail, and strong organizational skills to manage multiple events simultaneously. The Events Specialist II collaborates cross-functionally with internal stakeholders and external vendors to deliver high-impact experiences through trade shows, conferences, webinars, and internal events.
Responsibilities
Note: This role will likely have a 10-15% travel requirement to support event execution on-site.
Education
- Bachelor\’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field is required.
- Coursework or certification in Event Planning, Project Management, or Digital Marketing is a plus.
- Professional certifications such as Certified Meeting Professional (CMP), Certified Special Events Professional (CSEP), or Digital Event Strategist (DES) are desirable but not required.
Experience
- 2-4 years of professional experience in event planning, coordination, or event marketing within a corporate, agency, or nonprofit setting.
- Demonstrated experience managing multiple concurrent events, including both in-person and virtual formats.
- Proven ability to work cross-functionally with marketing, sales, and external vendors or partners.
- Hands-on experience with event management platforms and related technologies (e.g. Bizzabo, Goldcast, Zoom) is preferred.
- Experience working with budgets, negotiating contracts, and tracking event ROI and KPIs.
- Background in supporting trade shows, product launches, client engagement events, or branded corporate experiences is highly desirable.
Skills
- Knowledge of event planning and execution, including timelines, logistics, vendor coordination, budgeting, and post-event analysis.
- Understanding of marketing fundamentals, branding, and how events support business objectives such as lead generation and customer engagement.
- Knowledge of CRM and marketing automation tools (e.g. Marketo, Salesforce) for event promotion, lead capture, and tracking is a plus.
- Awareness of contract negotiation practices, risk management, permits, and compliance requirements for event execution.
- Understanding of social media and content strategy as it applies to pre-, during-, and post-event engagement.
- Project management skills with the ability to plan, organize, and manage multiple events simultaneously under tight deadlines; familiarity with Asana or similar project management tools is a plus.
- Creative thinking and visual sensibility for booth design, event branding, and experience creation.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills—verbal, written, and presentation—for working with internal teams, executives, vendors, and clients.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with high attention to detail.
- Ability to problem-solve quickly and make decisions in high-pressure, fast-paced environments.
- Budgeting and financial management skills to track costs, control spending, and demonstrate ROI.
Compensation
In the spirit of pay transparency, we are excited to share the base salary range for this position is $64,000 – $96,000, exclusive of fringe benefits or potential bonuses. This position is also eligible for an annual corporate bonus of 10%. If you are hired at Payscale, your final base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as skills, education, and/or experience. In addition to those factors – we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider any internal equity of our current team members as a part of any final offer. Please keep in mind that the range mentioned above is the full base salary range for the role. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical in order to allow for future & continued salary growth. We also offer a generous compensation and benefits package (more information on benefits listed below).
