Summary
The Direct Sourcing Director leads strategic sourcing and supplier strategy for digital payments and merchant services. This role focuses on cost optimization, supplier innovation, and ensures favorable business terms that drive financial and operational value to the business. This hybrid position is based in our London, UK office and requires three days per week on-site.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute sourcing strategies for suppliers/partners in the Digital Payments platforms and merchants’ business ecosystem.
- Conduct market analysis and benchmarking to identify cost-saving opportunities and innovative solutions.
- Negotiate contracts inclusive of favorable business terms such as working capital optimization, cost optimization, volume-based rebates, and risk-sharing mechanisms.
- Build and maintain Trusted Advisor relationships with the business community.
- Build and maintain strategic partnerships with key suppliers.
- Work in concert with the Vendor Management and Stakeholder community to implement supplier performance management.
- Partner with Stakeholders; Finance, Operations, Technology, and Legal to align sourcing strategies with business objectives as needed.
- Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, data security standards, and company policies. Work collaboratively with Supplier Risk Management.
Measurements
- Cost Savings: Achieve annual cost reduction targets (e.g., 10-20% Hard and Soft savings).
- Working Capital Impact: Improve cash flow through optimized payment terms and discount programs.
- Supplier Performance: Maintain compliance and quality standards via SLAs and other measurements.
- Contract Compliance: Ensure 100% adherence to negotiated terms.
- Innovation: Introduce supplier strategies (e.g. consolidations, new suppliers that improve client and/or stakeholder experience).
- Stakeholder Satisfaction: Via Net-Promoter scores and other tools, receive positive feedback from the business community on sourcing expertise, partnership and responsiveness.
Education & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or related field.
- 10 years of experience in strategic sourcing or procurement, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills, including working capital strategies.
- Expertise in the Digital Payments Industry/Financial Technology sourcing.
- Preferred: Master’s degree (MBA or equivalent).
- Professional certifications: CPSM, CSCP, or CPIM.
- Working knowledge of use of AI.
