About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Engineering Project Consultant to provide senior engineering and project-management expertise across complex, multidisciplinary engineering projects.
The successful candidate will provide technical and project leadership from concept and feasibility through FEED, detailed engineering, execution, commissioning and project close-out. The role will involve working across projects of varying size and complexity within sectors including Oil & Gas, Energy, Nuclear, Utilities, Chemicals and Industrial projects.
The successful candidate will work closely with clients, engineering teams, contractors, specialist suppliers and other project stakeholders to ensure engineering activities are delivered safely, efficiently, within agreed budgets and to the required quality and programme.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide senior engineering and project consultancy throughout the project lifecycle.
- Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams, consultants, contractors and specialist vendors.
- Manage engineering activities from concept design and FEED through detailed/execution design and implementation.
- Provide technical and project leadership across EPC, EPCM and other engineering delivery models.
- Develop and monitor project plans, programmes, budgets, resources and deliverables.
- Coordinate interfaces between engineering disciplines and ensure consistency of technical design.
- Review engineering deliverables, technical documentation and project requirements.
- Identify, assess and manage project risks, issues, dependencies and opportunities.
- Manage project change control and assess technical, commercial, programme and resource impacts.
- Provide technical input into tenders, bids, technical evaluations and contractor/vendor selection.
- Liaise directly with clients and act as a senior engineering/project focal point.
- Monitor project progress against cost, schedule, quality and technical objectives.
- Provide technical advice and recommendations to clients, project teams and senior management.
- Support project execution, construction, commissioning and final handover where required.
- Ensure engineering activities comply with applicable legislation, standards, codes, quality requirements and health and safety requirements.
- Support the development and implementation of engineering, project-management and risk-management procedures.
- Prepare project reports, technical assessments, progress updates and management information.
- Provide guidance and mentoring to engineers and project team members.
- Depending on project size and complexity, provide consultancy across individual projects or a portfolio of projects.
