An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Payroll Administrator to work for this national organisation. The role is based in their London office working in a team. This is hybrid working from home and approximately 2 days in the London office per month.

Key tasks and responsibilities:

  • Controlling own section of the payroll, including processing payroll data, weekly payroll received from client HR department/line managers relating to starters, leavers, pay reviews, pay adjustments, sickness, and change of hours, deputising, and payment of allowances.
  • Answering telephone and e-mail queries from clients or employees (in case of Local Fees) and third parties promptly and effectively.
  • Managing own workload, taking responsibility for maintaining workloads.
  • Meeting tight deadlines regarding cut-off dates.
  • Processing any changes to payroll which may arise out of queries, e.g., raising overpayments and making payments.
  • Checking data for self and colleagues' work, providing an audit trail of events.
  • Ensuring that all targets for service delivery are met and where possible exceeded.
  • Processing monthly and weekly pay calculations runs, processing general ledger files and running weekly and monthly post payroll reports.
  • Adhering to the Data Protection Act, client confidentiality, company policies and procedures, and quality management requirements.
  • Assisting the Team Leader and Senior and undertaking any other duties as required.

  • Accurate and methodical approach.

  • Strong IT skills.
  • Detailed knowledge of Zellis (Northgate software) is an advantage.
