The Sales Manager Payroll Services is a strategic leadership role focused on driving growth, launching new service lines, and building a high‑performing sales function. You will lead the expansion of our Payroll business, identifying and developing opportunities in key verticals such as CIS (Construction Industry Scheme), PEO (Professional Employer Organisation), Payroll Bureau, and Outsourced Payroll. This role requires someone with both strategic thinking and operational delivery capabilities – someone who can research and develop a market entry plan, build the team to deliver it, and oversee execution through to commercial success.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and Lead a Sales Team
- Recruit, hire and onboard at least 4 dedicated payroll salespeople
- Establish a performance‑focused culture with clear sales KPIs and individual targets
- Deliver training, coaching and mentoring to help your team succeed
- Implement sales technology (e.g. CRM) and reporting processes
- Conduct deep‑dive research into CIS Payroll Services, PEO models, Payroll Bureau opportunities, and Fully Outsourced Payroll services
- Identify customer pain points, competitors' pricing models, and regulatory needs
- Build a data‑driven go‑to‑market strategy for each new payroll service
- Launch outbound sales campaigns based on research and validated strategy
- Oversee pipeline generation, lead nurturing, and opportunity conversion
- Collaborate with marketing for campaign development and brand positioning
- Track performance using CRM data, team dashboards, and monthly reporting
- Budget for recruitment, onboarding, and training
- CRM and sales tools to support prospecting and reporting
