The Data Analyst Intern supports the Strategy and Operations team in strategic and tactical decision making, performance monitoring, and delivering actionable customer insights.

Your Impact

Opportunity to work on projects that involve some of the largest eCommerce businesses in Europe. Your work will directly impact the bottom line of the Europe business and strengthen PayPal’s market‑leading position in the Payments space.

Your Day to Day

  • Conduct data‑driven deep‑dive analysis on strategic topics such as new vertical analysis, merchant churn, and other themes identified by the business.
  • Track performance of merchant business against goals, identify over or under performance.
  • Support the Enterprise Sales team with strategic and tactical decisions.
  • Use data extraction and manipulation techniques (R/SQL/Python/MS Excel) to understand past trends.
  • Write code that automates dashboards, allowing Sales Teams to find new opportunities.

Required Qualifications

  • Currently studying for an Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Engineering, Science or another numerate degree.
  • Enrolled in penultimate/final year with a predicted or achieved 2.1 or above.
  • Commercial mindset with analytical mindset and high attention to detail.
  • Exceptional at interpreting and drawing business insights from data.
  • Excellent oral, written, and presentation skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of R/SQL/Python/MS Excel – ability to run queries and extract data from multiple systems.
  • Work authorization for the United Kingdom required.
