Job Summary: What you need to know about the role: As the owner of customer management risk strategies for the revolving PayPal Credit product in the UK, you will take full accountability for shaping and evolving how we lend. You will build upon existing frameworks to drive both growth and profitability, all while operating firmly within our defined risk appetite. Your insights and decisions will directly influence the performance of one of our flagship credit offerings.
Meet our team: You will join the Credit Risk team, whose remit is to define and govern the lending strategies and policies that guide how we serve over three million customers. We balance front-book initiatives-acquiring and underwriting new accounts-with back-book management-optimizing and remediating our existing portfolio-to fuel sustainable growth. Our collaborative, data-driven culture ensures that every strategy is both innovative and well-managed.
Your way to impact: You will own and deliver our end-to-end customer management risk strategies. From proposing innovative approaches and securing senior stakeholder buy-in to partnering with delivery teams on implementation, you will ensure these strategies drive measurable business outcomes. You will also continuously monitor performance, spot emerging issues, and lead remediation efforts to keep our risk framework robust and responsive.
Your day-to-day:
- Own all aspects of the customer management risk policy, working on projects from line changes and authorizations to payment holds and account closures, based on evolving business needs.
- Collaborate with product, data science, and finance partners to enhance underwriting models and optimize credit portfolio performance.
- Proactively surface emerging risks or opportunities and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Identify and integrate optimal data sources and process improvements to strengthen risk management, customer experience, and growth.
- Develop and maintain detailed KPI tracking to monitor the health of the credit card program and distill insights for stakeholders and senior leadership.
- Present regular business-health updates to senior management, highlighting successes, challenges, and actionable plans to address key issues.

- Expertise in Credit Risk Management: In-depth knowledge of credit performance, data providers, scoring models, and industry best practices.
- Advanced Analytics Expertise: Proficiency in SQL, Python, Advanced Excel, Tableau, and other analytics tools, with a proven track record of solving real-world problems.
- Data-Driven Decision-Making: Hands-on experience working with credit bureaus and other consumer data sources to drive strategic decisions.
- Exceptional Communication Skills: Outstanding written, verbal, and interpersonal abilities, capable of translating complex technical concepts into clear, actionable insights for diverse audiences.
