Role Description
The Heating Supervisor is a full-time, on-site role based in SE London, responsible for overseeing day-to-day heating operations and supervising a team of heating engineers and plumbers.
This role includes planning and coordinating installation, maintenance, and service work on conventional and renewable heating systems, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to high quality standards.
The Heating Supervisor will conduct site assessments, allocate resources, monitor progress, and provide technical guidance on system design and integration.
The role also involves liaising with clients, handling queries, preparing basic reports or job documentation, and supporting compliance with relevant regulations and industry best practices.
The supervisor will contribute to continuous improvement, mentoring team members and supporting training on new technologies and methods.
Qualifications
- Strong technical expertise in domestic and commercial heating systems, including installation, maintenance, fault-finding, and system commissioning.
- Experience with renewable heating technologies (e. g., heat pumps, solar thermal, biomass) and understanding of integrating these with existing conventional systems.
- Proven supervisory or team leadership experience, including scheduling work, guiding technicians, and maintaining safety and quality standards on-site.
- Solid knowledge of relevant regulations, industry standards, and best practices for heating, plumbing, and energy systems, with a commitment to safe working practices.
- Effective communication and customer service skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to clients and colleagues.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities, including attention to detail, prioritisation, and adaptability to changing site conditions.
- Relevant trade qualifications or certifications in heating and plumbing (e. g., NVQ, City & Guilds, Gas Safe registration or equivalent), with ongoing professional development viewed positively.
- Full, clean driving licence and willingness to work on-site across the local area; prior experience in a similar supervisory role in heating or building services is highly advantageous.
