The firm is looking to recruit a 1-5 year PQE Insolvency specialist to join our Dispute Resolution team.

The Dispute Resolution Team
The Dispute Resolution Department comprises 13 Partners, 5 Legal Directors, 1 Counsel, 1 PSL, 5 Senior Associates, 8 Associates, 2 Trainees and 2 paralegals, who offer a full range of litigation services including commercial disputes, intellectual property issues, insolvency, asset/debt recovery and more.
The wider team handles every type of commercial and residential property dispute.
With niche practices in crime, sports, education, entertainment and other dispute areas, there is a considerable depth to their expertise.
The Role and key responsibilities
The successful candidate will be looking to start building their own network, with the potential to generate their own work in the future.
Key areas of work include all aspects of insolvency and bankruptcy, including, but not limited to the following:
- Acting for insolvency office holders in both bankruptcy and corporate insolvency matters.
- Antecedent transactions and void dispositions.
- Director disqualification.
- Advising directors in the twilight zone, as well as in relation to defences to claims by office holders.
- Administrations and pre packs, and sales of businesses out of an insolvency process.
- Winding up and bankruptcy petitions, acting for debtors and creditors.
- Realisation of assets including applications to Court to seek possession of residential properties
The role will involve
- Managing matters efficiently and proactively.
- Drafting correspondence, witness statements and other documentation.
- Conducting legal research and preparing advice for clients.
- Attending mediations, conferences, hearings and client meetings.
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships.
- Assisting with business development initiatives, networking and profile-raising activities.
- Contributing to knowledge sharing and team development.
- Recognising opportunities to involve other departments within the firm
- The Individual
- Qualified solicitor in England & Wales ideally with 1-5 years PQE.
- Experience of Court litigation procedures, particularly the Insolvency and Companies Court and County Courts.
- Excellent drafting, analytical and communication skills.
- Strong organisational and matter management abilities.
- Commercial awareness and a client-focused approach.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong academics.
- Ability to be proactive and reactive in addressing clients’ affairs and requirements.
