Business Services Team – Business Development and Marketing Executive

Our Business Services team are seeking an enthusiastic Business Development and Marketing Executive to support the firm’s growth and profile in the market.

Payne Hicks Beach is a leading 43 partner firm based in offices at 10 New Square, Lincoln’s Inn. In total the firm comprises approximately 220 staff.

The Team

You will join a collaborative and ambitious team consisting of a Marketing and Communications Director, a Business Development Director, a Marketing Manager, and a Marketing Assistant, working closely with Partners and teams across the firm.

The Role

The firm has maintained strong growth in recent years, and we are expanding our business services expertise to support further success with existing and new clients.

This is an exciting opportunity to support the implementation of the firm’s strategy delivering important new business and communications initiatives.

The role offers a ‘full mix’ opportunity, operating across both business development and marketing, working with both the Marketing and Communications Director and the Business Development Director.

  • Marketing and Communications
  • Managing and delivering the firm’s legal directory submissions programme, which includes coordinating and delivering high-quality rankings submissions for Chambers & Partners, The Legal 500 and Spear’s.

You will liaise with partners and fee earners to gather matter highlights, tracking deadlines, managing referee processes and analysing rankings feedback to identify opportunities for profile enhancement.

  • Business development, client relationships and market research
  • Support the firm’s growth through the firm’s CRM and client intelligence systems, co-ordinating CRM initiatives, helping to identify and track new business opportunities and successes.
  • Support and run BD initiatives, including targeting, market research, curated events and meetings (with referrers and clients), and promote cross-practice BD.
  • Develop and manage BD content and materials to support pitches and proposals and maintain BD resources and information on the firm’s intranet.
  • Co-ordinate and oversee day-to-day activity and data integrity within the firm’s new CRM technology, supporting it’s roll out, optimisation and future development.
  • The Individual
  • Two years’ experience in marketing and/or business development in the professional services sector is desirable.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • An understanding of project management and organisational skills.
  • Experience working with external providers desirable.
  • Proficient in standard technology applications, and some knowledge of common AI tools would be ideal.
  • Experience in organising events (in-person and virtual).
  • Ability to think creatively, research and understand external markets, and generate business development ideas.
  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently on projects.
