Overview
In this Cyber Threat Engineer role within the Cyber Defence Centre, you protect Dojo’s payments platform by refining security tooling and leading active detection and response. You bridge security engineering with incident response, working across teams to safeguard systems as Dojo scales in-person payments. You’ll tune tooling, automate workflows, and drive improvements to detection and response. This is an opportunities to shape security at a rapidly growing payments company with a strong culture of autonomy and collaboration.
Responsibilities
- Triage alerts and manage end-to-end security incident processes, including root cause analysis
- Proactively hunt threats across network, endpoint, and cloud environments
- Maintain and optimize security tooling (SIEM, EDR, SOAR)
- Update IaC pipelines to ensure secure configurations and tooling are consistently applied
- Develop high-fidelity detection rules and design SOAR playbooks to automate workflows
- Identify visibility gaps and engineer solutions to advance security operations
- Mentor team members in automation and produce metrics and dashboards
Key requirements
- Proven background in Security Engineering or Incident Response in fast-paced settings
- Hands-on experience with SIEM and SOAR; Google SecOps experience preferred
- Scripting skills (Python, Go) and handling IaC pipelines
- Cloud experience with GCP and AWS
- Deep understanding of threat actors, TTPs, and root cause analysis
- Strong collaboration skills to work across teams and drive security improvements
