Overview
Our client is a high growth scale up challenger UK bank who are focused on providing banking and payment solutions in the UK & EU. They are in a unique position, as a licensed and regulated UK bank, to support the often complex and highly regulated banking needs of this market through their experience & knowledge of the sector. As part of our continued growth & development, we are keen to hire a Payments Product Manager to become our SME on domestic & cross-border payment products.
About the role:
- You will have a passion for payments & a fearless ambition for bold design and innovation.
- Act as a payment product subject matter expert across domestic payment schemes (FPS, BACS, CHAPS), SWIFT, and cross-border payments.
- Your focus on product quality is consistent and relentless to deliver next-level Payment’s capabilities.
- Developing and delivering the product roadmap for Payments to build and enhance our payment capability by proactively driving change in an agile way.
- Effectively communicate and distil the roadmap into specific business requirements for both in-house and external engineers’ teams, while also managing capacity to ensure timely quality delivery.
- Optimize the payments platform across TBOL Client API and core payment engine for speed without compromising reliability and scalability.
- Advocating and understanding the needs of customers, within a complex and rapidly changing environment.
- Working closely with payment schemes and regulators to design and schedule payments connectivity with tight deadlines.
- Understanding industry trends to ensure the product capabilities and directions will ensure The Bank of London establishes and maintains leadership in the Payments segment.
- Act as a day-to-day contact for all payment-related product queries, dealing with and escalating any issues to management in a timely manner.
About you:
- Experience in a Financial Services or Banking environment with a deep and broad knowledge of the payments industry, notably in the UK & Europe - Bacs, CHAPS, Faster Payments, SEPA & SWIFT, is essential.
- You keep your finger on the pulse of trends and regulatory changes in the Global Payments space such as Real Time Payments, New Payments Architecture (NPA) and Open Banking.
- Passionate about providing unparalleled levels of service and convenience for customers.
- You have brilliant problem-solving skills and a high degree of independent initiative, with a sharper focus to drive delivery in an agile-based working environment.
- You are a positive self-starter with excellent communication skills, well-organised, you can establish strong working relationships with a wide variety of customers, peers and stakeholders in a fast-paced young firm.
