Our client is an exciting payments technology start-up, based in London, who have recently secured some exceptional VC backing and are keen to scale the team. We are keen to hire an exceptional Head of Sales to join and play a pivotal role in driving the business forward by building a fantastic sales strategy, recruiting and leading a sales team, onboarding new customers & partners across the SMB sector and developing relationships with our new customers as we grow. This is a fast paced, start-up environment so you must be comfortable with being hands-on, pragmatic and excited by taking an influential role in a high-potential business.
Key responsibilities
- Create, build and roll out a sales strategy which achieves our agreed goals.
- Build and maintain fantastic relationships with both new & existing key clients.
- Hire & build a high performing sales team (both SDR & Field), demonstrating your ability to lead, inspire, motivate, train & develop the best people.
- Using your industry & product knowledge of card acquiring, ISO's, payment terminals and associated products, you will identify & close new business opportunities, managing your sales pipeline effectively.
- You will review sales & performance data to ensure you are on top of your own & your teams numbers, sharing best practice & communicating effectively with the rest of the leadership team.
About you
- You are likely to have experience of sales leadership & new business development, gained from within an acquirer or ISO (or related business), and have a depth of knowledge around the payments industry landscape, fin-tech, compliance, risk, onboarding and merchant services.
- Analytical, with the ability to review & act on data - being both adaptable & able to pivot will be key.
- You are likely to be hugely excited by working in a high potential start-up environment, where you will have a real impact & influence on the overall success of the SMB Sales division, and able to roll with the ambiguity that comes with it - previous exposure to a start-up/scale-up will be beneficial.
- Keen to remain hands-on in sales while being able to nurture a high performing team, ambitious to scale the business at pace.
