The Opportunity: The primary objective is to own direct customer relationships, drive new sales opportunities, increase customer satisfaction, and deliver financial targets. The Account Manager will also understand how the rail sector is integral to multi-modal transport solutions and develop client value accordingly. Responsibilities:

  • Build strong client relationships based on trust and reputation.
  • Identify new business opportunities and build business cases for execution, working closely with senior stakeholders.
  • Drive further revenue growth through account development, managing opportunities in Salesforce (or equivalent CRM).
  • Fully understand and manage the contract with the client, ensuring all operational and contractual requirements are met.
  • Ensure timely invoicing and cash collection, including contract indexation where applicable.
  • Manage the account P&L with focus on margin and revenue recognition against budget.
  • Maintain and present Account Plans, providing regular updates to leadership.
  • Improve and maintain customer satisfaction (CSAT) across all touchpoints.
  • Collaborate with Product Managers to present and maintain client-facing product strategy roadmaps.

Who We’re Looking For:

The ideal candidate has a detailed understanding of the UK rail or wider mobility transport sector, including experience working with operators, infrastructure providers, and transport authorities. The Account Manager will represent all services provided into the accounts, managing both operational and financial performance, while proactively developing relationships across client stakeholders. We are seeking a self-starter with:

  • Experience in the sales process: lead generation, relationship building, and deal closure.
  • Strong negotiation skills and a proven track record of success.
  • Knowledge of transport industry services and products, with ability to articulate their business value.
  • Passion for transport, with substantial knowledge of rail and mobility market trends.
  • Ability to work within a matrixed team environment across product, service, and business unit leaders.
  • Strong financial, sales, and bid management skills.
  • Experience building a healthy sales pipeline and successfully converting opportunities.
