We’re looking for a Senior Profitability and Costing Manager (Engineering/Cloud) to lead Paymentology\’s cost analysis and commercial finance strategy. In this role, you will develop robust costing models, analyse cost-to-serve, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to support informed decision-making.
This is a high-impact position requiring strong technical acumen , particularly in infrastructure-intensive environments , and the ability to translate complex financial insights into clear, actionable recommendations. You’ll play a key role in financial planning, infrastructure cost assessments, and marginal profitability modelling, helping shape pricing strategies that align with our long-term goals.

Tasks
Cost & Profitability Analysis : Develop an in-depth understanding of Paymentology’s global cost-to-serve and infrastructure setup. Define standard costing models and maintain data-driven estimates for transaction and customer onboarding costs. Collaborate across teams to ensure accurate measurement of resources and effort for each product, platform, and service.
Financial Modelling & Reporting : Create technically robust profitability models to ensure desired margins and strong unit economics. Generate detailed profitability reports and automate tracking for scalability. Prepare clear presentations to communicate Paymentology’s financial performance to senior stakeholders.
Industry Benchmarking & Process Improvement : Benchmark Paymentology\’s commercial finance practices against industry best-in-class standards. Identify opportunities to enhance profitability and operational efficiency. Work with the Pricing Manager to optimise pricing strategies.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement : Partner with cross-functional teams to align financial strategies with business goals. Provide actionable financial insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, supporting key decision-making.
Requirements
What it takes to succeed:
- 10+ years of experience in finance, specifically on costing and pricing, within a large-scale, infrastructure-intensive technology business or engineering projects.
- Proven track record of developing financial models, implementing costing processes, and driving profitability improvements at scale.
- Strong technical understanding of cloud infrastructure setup and engineering project costing.
- Experience in issuer processing or payments is advantageous.
- Proven expertise in financial modelling, profitability analysis, and cost allocation strategies.
- Extensive experience in collaborating with cross-functional teams, particularly within infrastructure and technology domains.
- Experience in automation and system-driven approaches to financial reporting and cost management.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present financial concepts to senior leadership with confidence and clarity.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying efficiency opportunities.
- Collaborative team player committed to driving results in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
- Educational background in Engineering preferred.
