Mission for Night Porter
To create a pleasant experience for the guests by ensuring security of guests and the hotel during the night.
Outcomes
- Conduct regular fire walks throughout the night to ensure corridors, fire exits, and public areas are clear and safe.
- Ensure all front, back, and emergency doors are locked and secure at all times.
- Perform hourly security checks of all entrances and patrol the building, including the car park.
- Monitor CCTV at the reception desk and carry out regular patrols around the premises.
- Watch for and prevent squatters, intruders, or any unusual, illegal, or dangerous activities.
- Respond promptly, professionally, and confidently to guest requests, complaints, and emergencies.
- Report recurring issues and security concerns to the Operations or Management team.
- Maintain the overall security of the hotel throughout the night.
- Ensure cleanliness and tidiness of all public areas, including lobbies, hallways, restrooms, and reception.
- Vacuum carpets, sweep and mop floors, dust furniture, and clean glass and surfaces.
- Clean and sanitize high-touch areas such as door handles, handrails, and counters.
- Empty trash bins and replace liners as required.
- Move and organize linen to designated linen stores on different floors.
- Clean down and set up the coffee shop area.
- Assist with setup and breakdown of meeting rooms and event spaces.
- Complete hotel host, housekeeping, kitchen prep, stock checks, and administrative tasks assigned by management.
- Maintain inventory of cleaning and operational supplies and notify management when replenishment is needed.
- Follow all health, safety, and security protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
- Carry out smoke tests and other safety checks as required.
