About Paydock
Paydock is a fast-scaling payments orchestration platform empowering businesses to take control of their payment infrastructure. We're passionate about improving the way people experience payments and are dedicated to building innovative, secure, and scalable systems.
Role Summary
We are looking for a pragmatic and hands-on AI Engineer to join our team—not to build new AI models, but to integrate AI technologies, develop smart workflows, and craft high-quality prompts that improve internal tools, developer productivity, and customer experiences.
You will work closely with product, engineering, and operations teams to embed AI capabilities across Paydock’s platform and internal processes using tools such as OpenAI, Anthropic, and other third-party AI APIs.
Key Responsibilities
- Integrate AI APIs (e.g., OpenAI, Claude, Hugging Face APIs) into internal tools and customer-facing applications.
- Design and implement workflows powered by AI, such as content summarization, support automation, documentation generation, or intelligent query handling.
- Develop prompt chains and prompt strategies for specific business functions (engineering assistance, product support, operational efficiency).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize use cases where AI can drive value.
- Create robust, testable, and maintainable code to support AI workflows using Python, NodeJS, or similar technologies.
- Ensure AI features are compliant, secure, and performant.
- Stay up to date with the latest developments in AI APIs and tooling, and continuously assess potential opportunities.
-
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience integrating AI/LLM APIs into software systems or workflows.
- Strong experience in prompt engineering and chaining logic for AI-based tasks.
- Background in backend engineering (Python, NodeJS, or similar).
- Familiarity with tools like LangChain, OpenAI API, Pinecone, or similar.
- A problem-solver mindset—focused on delivering tangible outcomes using AI.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, agile environment.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Nice to Have
- Experience with workflow orchestration tools (e.g., Temporal, Airflow).
- Familiarity with vector databases or semantic search tools.
- Experience building internal tooling or developer productivity enhancements using AI.
- Exposure to customer support AI tools or RAG (retrieval augmented generation) systems.
Why Join Paydock?
- Work with a passionate, remote-first team that's reshaping payments.
- Opportunity to lead and define AI use cases at a scaling fintech company.
- Flat structure, collaborative culture, and the chance to have a real impact.
- Competitive compensation and flexibility.
