We are looking for a senior, commercially sharp Product Manager to lead the growth and expansion of our Banking‑as‑a‑Service (BaaS) platform — a critical initiative that will unlock new revenue streams and scale payabl.'s banking capabilities for external partners. This role is not a feature‑factory product role. You will own a mission‑critical platform that enables fintech companies, brands, and financial institutions to embed banking services into their products without building their own core banking systems. Your focus will be on partner enablement, API‑driven product strategy, and scalable multi‑tenant architecture. You’ll define product direction for our BaaS ecosystem, set partner‑focused priorities, and ensure the platform evolves in line with our North Star: sustainable growth in active BaaS partners and transaction volumes through the BaaS channel. You will work at the intersection of Product, Engineering, and Partner Success — collaborating closely with developers, delivery managers, business stakeholders, and external partners to ensure we build a scalable, technically sound, and commercially viable platform that delivers real value.
What will you do
- Own and evolve the BaaS platform roadmap (3, 6, and 12‑month horizons) with a focus on partner adoption, integration ease, and revenue growth
- Define product direction aligned with the company North Star (30% growth in active BaaS partners)
- Build and scale the BaaS API and partner ecosystem to support partner growth and transaction volumes
- Design and own the partner onboarding experience — from API documentation to SDKs, sandbox environments, and integration support
- Identify technical bottlenecks in partner integration flows and reduce friction (time‑to‑integrate, complexity, support burden)
- Work closely with Engineering to understand multi‑tenant architecture, scaling constraints, and integration capabilities
- Translate partner feedback and market opportunities into structured product initiatives and roadmap priorities
- Drive discovery, API documentation, and architectural alignment with partner success teams
- Ensure sustainable, scalable solutions that generate revenue and improve partner lifetime value
- Be accountable for partner satisfaction metrics, integration success rates, and BaaS channel revenue
- Collaborate closely with Delivery Manager and Engineering Lead to ensure roadmap execution and SLA compliance
- Align internal stakeholders (Sales, Compliance, Operations, Finance) on partner‑facing capabilities and commercial models
- Organize monthly partner reviews and internal product reviews to communicate direction, partner feedback, and decisions
- Evaluate third‑party integrations and partnerships when needed (payment processors, KYC/AML providers, etc.)
- Own the expansion of API‑first banking capabilities (accounts, cards, payments, compliance tools) for partner consumption
- Support partner success through technical enablement, documentation, and community engagement
What we need
- 5+ years of experience as a Product Manager or Product Owner in BaaS, API platforms, or fintech environments
- Strong experience with Banking‑as‑a‑Service or API‑first financial platforms — understanding of multi‑tenant architecture, partner ecosystems, and integration complexity
- Technical depth in system architecture, APIs, integrations, and scalability — ability to discuss technical trade‑offs and constraints with engineers
- Experience managing partner‑facing products or platforms — understanding of partner lifecycle, onboarding, and success metrics
- Strong data‑driven mindset and analytical skills — ability to measure partner adoption, integration success, and revenue impact
- Experience building and managing structured roadmaps aligned to business outcomes and partner needs
- Experience working in Agile / Scrum environments and coordinating cross‑functional delivery
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills — ability to align internal teams, partners, and executives on priorities and trade‑offs
- Understanding of compliance and regulatory requirements in fintech/banking environments (KYC, AML, licensing, data residency)
Nice to have
- Engineering background or early technical career experience — ability to code or deep technical familiarity
- Experience scaling high‑transaction platforms (millions of transactions, multi‑region, multi‑currency)
- Experience in fintech scale‑ups or fast‑growing environments
- Exposure to open banking / PSD2 / API‑first banking models
- Experience with payment rails (SEPA, SWIFT, card processing, instant payments)
- Prior experience launching or scaling a BaaS platform from 0→1 or 1→10 partners
Hiring Process
- Initial Interview — 30‑40 minute conversation with Talent Acquisition Partner
- Hiring Manager Interview — 45‑60 minute interview with CPO
- Live Scenario‑Based Technical Assessment — A 60‑90 minute structured discussion based on a partner onboarding / scaling scenario
- Final Interview — Culture, team‑fit, and partner success thinking discussion
