We’re looking for a motivated Product Manager to join us on a 12‑month fixed‑term contract, overseeing the delivery and execution of key product initiatives that add value for our customers and align with our strategic goals. In this role, you'll oversee product development activities, manage our product pipeline and backlog, and ensure robust documentation and governance across the lifecycle. Working closely with cross‑functional teams, you’ll promote agile ways of working, deliver high‑quality analysis, and use data‑driven insights to optimise product performance. Additionally, you will contribute to the development of best practices via industry involvement and apply your insights to improve sales, customer interactions, and support organisational advancement.
Accountabilities
- Coordinate the development of product plans
- Manage the delivery of such plans to ensure priority work can be supported and allow for non‑planned work to be considered and resourced quickly and efficiently
- Identify and manage the product risks as a key part of your role
- Support and follow the product development process once delivered
- Enable necessary knowledge transfer, identify and self‑sort learning and development support where required
- Represent Pay.UK at industry events, including speaking opportunities
- Any other duties required / general team support
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
- Extensive stakeholder management experience within the retail payments industry
- Solid foundation working in regulated environments and overseeing complex services
- Degree‑level education or equivalent professional experience; relevant qualifications
- Deep understanding of financial services, payments, regulation, and product development
- Experience in market sizing, business case development, and assessing market drivers and opportunities
- Ability to turn product ideas into practical, deliverable solutions
- Proficient in communication and negotiation, ensuring smooth interactions with external stakeholders
- Highly developed analytical abilities, capable of extracting insights to facilitate data‑informed decision making
- Capable of effectively engaging with various departments and stakeholders within a matrix setup
- Proficient in networking, capable of cultivating meaningful relationships both internally and externally
- Motivated individual who demonstrates resilience in all tasks undertaken
- Ability to understand and apply regulatory requirements
