We are now looking to recruit a reliable, hands-on and highly motivated Maintenance Person to join our team in a varied and rewarding role supporting the smooth running of our production facilities and machinery. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who takes pride in solving problems, working independently, and being part of a stable and respected business where staff retention is exceptionally high.
The Role
You will be responsible for ensuring facilities and machinery function efficiently, safely, and reliably through ongoing maintenance, repairs, inspections, and cleaning. This is a varied role requiring practical ability, technical understanding, and a proactive attitude toward identifying and rectifying issues quickly and efficiently. While primarily based at our main production premises, there will also be occasions where work at additional company sites is required.
Key Responsibilities
- Carrying out general maintenance and repair work across facilities and machinery
- Performing routine inspections and preventative maintenance
- Diagnosing faults and resolving machinery or facility issues efficiently
- Supporting safe and efficient operation of production equipment
- Liaising with contractors and staff where required
- Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised working environment
- Responding to occasional emergency breakdown call-outs when necessary
Required Skills & Experience
- Proficiency in the use of hand tools and power tools
- Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems
- Strong problem-solving and fault-finding ability
- Ability to analyse defects and troubleshoot practical solutions
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Physically capable of lifting equipment, climbing ladders, and working on your feet for extended periods
- Full driving licence required
Hours & Flexibility
This is primarily a daytime-hours position. However, due to the nature of the role and occasional machinery breakdowns, there may be a requirement for evening call-outs when necessary.
Salary & Benefits
Salary DOE (Dependent on Experience). Starting salary approximately £32,000 per annum. Salary is negotiable for the right candidate based on experience and skillset. Additional call-out payments are paid over and above basic salary.
