About the role
Join our team in Brighton where you\’ll design and commission test systems to ensure product quality and support efficient manufacturing.
- Design bespoke mechanical and electrical test jigs and fixtures for PCBA testing. Integrate test systems with production hardware and software environments to ensure seamless deployment and operation
- Source and procure required components, coordinate with subcontractors, and take ownership of assembling and wiring test jigs to a high professional standard
- Work with hardware, firmware, mechanical, and production teams to define test strategies and DFT (Design for Test) requirements early in the design lifecycle. Support New Product Introduction (NPI) by delivering scalable test solutions aligned with engineering timelines.
- Diagnose failures to component level, supporting root cause analysis and fault isolation in production. Assist manufacturing and QA teams with resolving test issues and improving test coverage, yield and reliability.
- Generate and maintain detailed documentation, including build guides, calibration procedures, and fault trees. Ensure test systems meet safety standards.
- Work as part of a project team to deliver projects in line with cost and time constraints, using agile or structured project planning tools. Contribute to continuous improvement efforts across test processes and systems.
- Maintain a strong awareness of health and safety considerations throughout all activities, ensuring that the Companys policies and procedures on Health and Safety and Equal Opportunities are consistently upheld and implemented.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
What are we looking for?
- Strong electronics testing experience, developing and maintaining production test solutions, including SMT board testing, PCB layout and schematic capture.
- Proven experience in hands-on electronics testing, designing mechanical and electrical test jigs and fixtures for PCBA testing.
- A methodical and adaptable professional with excellent communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills, able to manage priorities, work independently, and collaborate effectively across multi-site teams.
