About the role:
Join our Manufacturing Engineering team in Eastbourne, where you will deliver successful New Product Introduction (NPI) across electronics (PCA) and assembly manufacturing, acting as the key interface between Product Development and Manufacturing. You will lead end-to-end NPI activity, ensuring products are delivered safely, on time, to quality and cost targets, with full production readiness at launch. You will drive Design for Manufacture, Assembly and Test (DFM/DFA/DFT), embedding Right First Time (RFT), FMEA and defect prevention principles throughout the product lifecycle. Ensure safe process design during NPI, supporting risk assessments, COSHH and compliance with HSE and ISO9001 requirements. Define and optimise manufacturing processes, equipment, layouts, workflows and documentation, ensuring effective handover into production. Identify opportunities to reduce cost, waste, complexity, rework and scrap through design and process optimisation, including support for CapEx decisions. Work closely with Product Development, Quality, Operations and Manufacturing Engineering teams to resolve issues, prioritise workload and communicate progress across multiple projects. Act as a manufacturing subject matter expert, supporting continuous improvement of NPI processes and mentoring junior engineers. Regular travel to our Brighton Head Office and Electronics Centre is required as part of supporting NPI and production activities.
What are we looking for?
- Experience in a similar NPI or Manufacturing Engineering role within electro-mechanical manufacturing.
- Strong application of DFM principles and experience collaborating closely with design teams.
- Confident working across multi-disciplinary and multi-site teams with clear, effective communication skills.
- Well organised, able to prioritise and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- The right attitude is more important to us than your skills or experience. If you are excited about a role but your existing experience doesn't match up with every element of the job description, we encourage you to apply anyway. If you are unsure, reach out to the recruitment team for career advice.
- We want to collaborate with you and hear your ideas; most of all, we want people to enjoy the journey with us.
