At Pax8 we’re looking for a Microsoft Support Engineer. You will join our Global Partner Support team and be the technical force behind the success of our partners (our customers) - solving complex challenges and keeping our marketplace platform running seamlessly! This role can be based in either our Bristol or Farnborough office.
As our Microsoft Support Engineer you will be the trusted technical partner behind our partner (MSP's) ecosystem - solving challenges, guiding partners, and keeping our marketplace platform running smoothly. You'll collaborate across teams and vendors to resolve issues, support our marketplace operations, and deliver an outstanding customer experience every day.
Let’s look at your day to day as a Microsoft Support Engineer:
- Act as the first escalation and troubleshooting point for productivity vendor solutions (e.g., Microsoft), owning investigation and issue resolution for vendor product problems impacting our customers.
- Triage incoming support cases, working with Tier 2 specialists on complex issues to ensure timely and effective resolution.
- Create and maintain knowledge base articles while identifying recurring issues and collaborating with Product and Engineering teams on long term improvements.
- Act as the main point of contact for partners, providing clear updates, managing expectations, and ensuring a positive support experience.
- Build strong relationships with partners and collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams to deliver seamless support.
- Stay current with platform updates, industry trends, and best practices while continuously seeking opportunities to improve and grow.
You’ll be the ideal Microsoft Support Engineer for us if you have:
- Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 and the wider Modern Workplace ecosystem.
- Experience planning and executing Microsoft 365 migrations.
- Administration and support of Microsoft Teams, SharePoint Online, and OneDrive for Business.
- Expertise with Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), identity management, and access controls.
- Experience managing Exchange Online environments.
- Knowledge of Conditional Access policies and modern security best practices.
- Ability to automate tasks and streamline processes using PowerShell or other scripting tools.
- Understanding of Microsoft Purview, data governance, and compliance solutions.
- Experience with Microsoft Defender and cloud security technologies.
- Solid understanding of DNS, domain management, and connectivity troubleshooting.
Operational & Support Experience:
- Experience providing second-line support or higher within an IT support environment.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues across Microsoft technologies.
- Previous experience working within a service desk, managed service provider (MSP), or similar support function.
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills, with a methodical approach to troubleshooting.
- A track record of delivering exceptional customer service while managing multiple priorities.
- Confidence communicating technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Bonus Points:
- Microsoft certifications across Microsoft 365, Security, or Azure technologies.
- Experience working in an MSP or fast-paced customer-facing environment.
- Exposure to security, compliance, and governance initiatives.
- Experience delivering infrastructure modernization or cloud transformation projects.
In order to fulfil this role you should be resident in this country with a valid right to work. This is a hybrid role to be based in either of Bristol or Farnborough office. Please note that you will be expected to be in either office 1x per week.
