Full Stack Engineer (Python) in London

The role will be on a Permanent Night Shift Schedule (10pm - 6am). Pax8 is hiring a Full Stack Engineer 2 in Makati, Philippines to help shape the future of billing intelligence, automation, and observability within one of the world’s leading AI-powered cloud marketplaces.

As a Full Stack Engineer 2 within Marketplace Operations, you’ll design systems that improve accuracy, scalability, and resilience across a global cloud marketplace. You’ll work at the intersection of Engineering, Product, Finance, and Operations, building tools that power smarter decisions, reduce operational friction, and prevent issues before they happen.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Engineer Better Visibility: Develop intelligent observability platforms that provide deep insight into billing performance, subscription activity, and operational health. Create dashboards, alerts, and monitoring solutions that help teams identify issues before they impact partners or customers.
• Automate Critical Processes: Design automation tools that remove manual effort, increase efficiency, and improve accuracy across large-scale billing operations. Build systems that proactively identify anomalies and drive self-service troubleshooting capabilities.
• Build End-to-End Solutions: Develop scalable full-stack applications, APIs, services, and data workflows using modern engineering practices. Create intuitive user experiences that help technical and operational teams make faster, more informed decisions.
• Partner Across the Business: Collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, Finance, Support, and Operations teams to solve meaningful business challenges. Translate operational insights into sustainable technology solutions that drive long-term value.
• Lead Through Expertise: Mentor fellow team members through technical guidance, coaching, and engineering best practices. Contribute to architectural discussions and help shape the future direction of Marketplace Operations tooling.
• Solve Complex Problems: Investigate root causes behind operational and billing issues using data, systems thinking, and engineering expertise. Support critical business periods with calm, thoughtful problem solving and continuous improvement.

What Makes You a Great Fit

• Demonstrated experience building modern full-stack applications with a strong emphasis on backend engineering.
• Significant expertise with Python and SQL for application development, automation, and data processing.
• Proven experience working with large, complex datasets where accuracy and reliability are critical.
• Strong knowledge of cloud-native technologies, containerisation, and modern deployment practices.
• Practical experience with AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, JavaScript, and related engineering tools.
• A solid understanding of observability, monitoring, logging, alerting, and system health practices.
• Experience building internal platforms, operational dashboards, automation tools, or data-driven applications.
• The ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• A thoughtful approach to delivering incremental value while balancing long-term technical strategy.
• A collaborative mindset with a passion for mentoring others and solving meaningful business problems.
