The Role You Play as an Outpatient Mental Health Therapist
This outpatient therapist position focused on delivering trauma-informed, evidence-based mental health therapy. You’ll serve clients in an outpatient setting while contributing to a collaborative, person-centered treatment environment. Your work is essential in helping individuals, families, and groups overcome challenges and achieve emotional well-being.
As An Outpatient Therapist With Pawnee, You Will
- Diagnose and treat mental health disorders, developing and maintaining person-centered treatment plans tailored to each client’s needs
- Collaborate with treatment teams, natural supports, and external providers to ensure comprehensive, coordinated care
- Monitor client progress through ongoing assessment and timely, accurate documentation per agency standards
- Demonstrate cultural sensitivity and complete agency-required trainings, including certification in evidence-based treatment models
- Deliver psychoeducational services to the community as assigned

Requirements
- Master’s degree in Counseling, Marriage & Family Therapy, Psychology, Social Work or related field
- Current, active, unencumbered license as an LPC, LMFT, LMLP, or LMSW (a temporary license will be considered eligible for up to 2 years)
- Ability to exercise sound clinical judgment in routine, urgent, and emergent clinical situations
- Ability to provide therapy to youth and adults across the lifespan, ages 5 and up.
- Ability and desire to work as part of a clinical team while also able to be self-directed and motivated with minimal supervision
- Ability to acquire and effectively practice new clinical skills as needed according to evolving agency needs/services
- Ability to effectively utilize Microsoft Office Suite
Preferred
- Independent clinical license (LCPC, LCMFT, LCP, LP, LSCSW)
- Experience/training in TF-CBT, ABFT, or other evidenced based practice
- 1 year experience providing group therapy
