Pet Sitter in Milton Keynes

Pawesome Pet Sits has an exciting opportunity for an animal lover to join our exclusive team of successful pet care providers. Please read this job description carefully before applying. We are currently looking for a personable and professional go-getter in Milton Keynes, who would like to become a pet sitter.

The role of a pet sitter involves staying in a client's home for mainly daily (overnight) stays or sometimes hourly stays to look after their pets and keep them company. The overnight stays are not optional; the majority of bookings are anything from one overnight stay up to two weeks. Hourly stays are rarer.

Our pet sitters are self-employed and pay a commission to Pawesome for the work, tools, and support provided. Invoices and payments are all managed by Pawesome to remove worry and enable you to build uninterrupted solid relationships with your clients. Types of animals vary, but it is mainly dogs, and so would also require providing the doggy with daily exercise. Dog breeds can vary, so applicants need to be in good shape and enjoy walking larger breeds as well as small breeds.

This role is an ideal opportunity for someone wanting additional income, such as someone who can work remotely, is retired, or has another job that only takes up a few hours of their day. This job has also worked well for students only needing to attend their university for a few hours a day or who are completing their course remotely. This job does not tend to work for those with families, young children, pets, or other responsibilities requiring them to be at home the majority of the time.

This job is a relaxed, enjoyable, and flexible role, with excellent financial prospects. Due to the nature of this role, meaning that the pet sitter may be in the client's most personal space, with their beloved pet amidst all of their valued belongings, the right person for this role must be personable, trustworthy, have a love for animals, and great communication skills.

The successful applicant will also be required to provide a DBS check cert and get themselves insurance (Pawesome would help you get these if you are unsure). Specific requirements for pets can vary from client to client, but it is rare that dogs can be left for more than 5 hours alone, and of course, as animal lovers, Pawesome wouldn't condone dogs being left for any longer than this. So please don't apply if you have commitments that would mean you leaving pets alone for 5+ hours.

Initially, the work is likely to be sporadic but can quickly build to be very busy for the right person who is willing to be flexible and consistently provide a good service. Our pet sitters have been completely booked out during the previous two summers. It is an exciting time to join us, as we are growing very quickly and going from strength to strength. For clarification, this job advertisement is for a pet sitter, not a boarder. Pet Sitting is a service in which you stay in the client's home. If you are interested in dog boarding (when the pets stay in your home), then Pawesome can help you with this and work with you, but you would need to acquire a license from your council (which Pawesome can help you get). However, this would involve you completing a course, passing inspection, and paying for that license (which is quite costly).
