We are looking for an experienced, reliable and caring phlebotomist to join our busy, friendly Practice. The candidate must be confident when dealing with patients and have excellent communication skills.
Whilst this position is predominantly open to experienced phlebotomists, there will be an opportunity for progression to the role of a Healthcare Assistant with full training and support for the right candidate.
Candidates who have some basic skills as a Health Care Assistant will also be considered but initially the majority of your working hours will be focused on running phlebotomy clinics.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about patient care and keen to develop their skills in a healthcare setting. Experience in General Practice is desirable but not essential.
As a phlebotomist you will interact directly with patients, process samples efficiently, providing high quality care in line with the Practice policies and protocols. You will work under the direction and support of the lead nurse.
Salary Range- £13.00 to £15.00ph depending on experience
Main duties of the job
Perform venepuncture to collect blood samples from patients
Ensure accurate labelling and handling of specimens
Record and manage data using clinical systems
Maintain patient confidentiality and uphold infection control standards
Provide reassurance to patients during procedures

Qualifications
- Trained in phlebotomy
- NVQ in health and social care (or similar)
