An opportunity has become available for a qualified HealthCare Assistant to join our friendly, busy Practice. We are recruiting for a part-time position of 22.5 hours per week with working days Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
We are a very welcoming, supportive and hard-working team. You will work alongside the Practice Nurses, Phlebotomist and clinical team in the provision and delivery of patient care and in accordance with Practice protocols and guidelines. The candidate will be organised, dedicated, efficient, highly motivated with good IT skills. You should have excellent communication skills, with strong administrative and organisational skills to deliver high-quality healthcare to our patients. The post holder will be a compassionate and committed professional who will work collaboratively with our Practice team to meet the needs of our patients.
The ideal candidate must have previous experience working in General Practice or an NHS setting and be qualified to a minimum of an NVQ Level 3 or 4 in Healthcare and/or completed the Care Certificate.
Main duties of the job:- To support the Practice nursing team in the delivery of clinical and administrative services, delivering care within their scope of practice to the entitled population.
- The HCA will deliver and assist clinical staff in the provision of treatment, preventative care, health promotion and patient education.

Job responsibilities:- Basic chronic disease checks
- Dressings
- Injections Pneumo/B12
- ECGs
- BPs and 24 hour BP
- Ear Syringing
- Suture removal
- Stock ordering
- Ensure compliance and quality assurance is met in line with Practice procedures and CQC regulations
- Follow infection control standards
- Assisting in the assessment and surveillance of patients' health and well-being
- Helping to raise awareness of health and wellbeing and how it can be promoted
This list is not exhaustive and where there are gaps in training this will be provided. It is expected as a minimum to be experienced with phlebotomy.
Person Specification Qualifications:The ideal candidate must have previous experience working in General Practice or an NHS setting and be qualified to a minimum of an NVQ Level 3 or 4 in Healthcare and/or completed the Care Certificate.
