Remote
Reporting into the Head of Risk and Health, this role combines team leadership responsibilities with hands-on client management. The successful individual will proactively manage an existing portfolio of SME clients while delivering a high-quality advisory and consulting service across Group Risk and Healthcare products. The role will also involve managing insurer relationships and overseeing platform/provider arrangements within the Risk proposition.
Key Skills & Experience
- Strong background within the Group Risk market, either from a consultancy/advisory or insurer/provider environment
- Previous people management or team leadership experience desirable
- Excellent understanding of Group Risk products, particularly Group Life and Group Income Protection claims management
- Strong knowledge of the wider Risk and Healthcare markets
- Proven ability to build long-term relationships with both clients and internal stakeholders
- Commercially minded, with experience identifying growth opportunities within existing clients and converting prospective business
- Comfortable engaging with senior stakeholders and building credibility across a wider business
- Experienced in negotiating with insurers/providers to secure favourable client outcomes
Core Responsibilities
- Day-to-day leadership and management of the SME Risk team, including resource planning, delegation, performance management, development, and employee engagement
- Supporting the wider Risk and Health leadership team in driving forward strategic growth initiatives
- Managing a portfolio of corporate Risk schemes across a range of SME clients
- Conducting fact-finds and initial advice meetings
- Preparing market review documentation, reviewing quotations, negotiating with insurers, and producing renewal/review reports
- Delivering client meetings both virtually and face-to-face
- Identifying and developing additional revenue opportunities across the client portfolio
- Handling inbound client, employee, and provider queries
- Supporting new business processes and prospect conversion activity
- Assisting with broader strategic and operational projects, including reporting, technical content, and process improvement initiatives
