An established and highly respected specialist insurer is seeking a Senior Claims Adjuster to join its growing Emerging Risks Claims team. This is an opportunity to handle complex, international claims across a diverse portfolio including Transactional Liability, Warranty & Indemnity (W&I), Technology, Media and Intellectual Property risks. Working within a collaborative and technically strong claims environment, you will manage claims across multiple jurisdictions including the UK, Europe, North America, and Australia.
The successful individual will take ownership of claims from first notification through to resolution, managing coverage investigations, liability assessments, quantum analysis and settlement negotiations while working closely with brokers, policyholders, underwriters, and capacity providers.
The Opportunity
- Managing a portfolio of complex liability and transactional liability claims from notification through to settlement.
- Conducting detailed coverage, liability and quantum assessments.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with brokers, insureds, legal counsel, adjusters and capacity providers.
- Ensuring accurate reserving and identifying recovery opportunities where appropriate.
- Monitoring litigation, regulatory and contractual deadlines across multiple jurisdictions.
- Working closely with underwriting teams to provide claims insight, identify emerging trends and support product development.
- Managing external service providers to ensure quality and cost-effective outcomes.
- Producing management information and maintaining accurate electronic claims records.
- Mentoring and supporting junior claims professionals.
- Escalating significant claims and coverage issues where necessary.
About You
Applications are welcomed from individuals with:
- Experience handling Transactional Liability, W&I, Financial Lines, Professional Indemnity or other complex liability claims.
- A background within the Lloyd's, London Market, insurer, MGA, TPA or broking environment.
- Strong technical knowledge of policy wordings and coverage analysis.
- An understanding of delegated authority arrangements and subscription market structures.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- The ability to prioritise effectively and manage a varied workload.
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach to claims handling.
Progress towards CII qualifications would be advantageous but is not essential.
