You’ll work closely with a panel of around 20 top broker partners, managing a varied mid-market portfolio across sectors such as large property portfolios, leisure, and more.
About the Team & Culture

- Led by an experienced and supportive leader with over two decades in the business.
- A genuinely social, inclusive culture — from boat parties on the Thames to charity work and regular team events.
- Clear career pathways into Senior Underwriting, Management, Operations, or Distribution, supported by structured development plans and internal training.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Handling mid-market cases with premiums from £5k to £500k (average £10k–£25k).
- Maintaining and growing relationships with brokers across Essex, London, and East Anglia.
- 60% Property, 40% Casualty split.
- Managing renewal retention or new business enquiries
- Visiting broker partners and attending the office 2–3 days per week.

- Progression linked to underwriting authority levels, with salary growth tied to each step
- Learn from highly experienced colleagues in a supportive environment
- Opportunity to join a global insurer with strong UK market presence
Looking For
- 5+ years’ underwriting experience, ideally in the mid-market space (Property & Casualty).
- Strong broker relationship skills.
- Confident in managing varied portfolios and premium sizes.
