My client are a leading Lloyd's insurance MGA. This is an opportunity to join a high-performing FP&A team and help build a platform that drives business performance and decision-making. You’ll work closely with the Head of FP&A, taking a hands-on role in management reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and business partnering. This is a high-impact opportunity to deliver timely, accurate insights, influence key finance initiatives, and shape how the business uses financial data to drive growth. My client are based in the City of London and operate a 3 office 2 home working model. Although this role is a 6 month contract the aim is for the role to go permanent due to continued growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Influence the development of FP&A reporting, KPI tracking & actively be involved in build out on these objectives & integration of financial and actuarial data.
- Work with business to collate and prepare regular forecasts and analysis, understanding and challenging variances to prior year and budget.
- Delivery of budget, forecasting to an agreed timeline liaising with business contacts across all functions to tight timescales.
- Embed a culture of business partnering through close collaboration with business units.
- Adhoc analysis for business opportunities, business line decision support.
- Treasury related duties including cash flow reporting and forecasting (if relevant to role).
- Supporting the implementation of the new workflow (and systems if applicable).
- Assist with the development of reporting framework, and designing controls around the reporting process to drive quality and excellence.
- Support the wider Finance team in helping to alleviate operational/transactional queries.
The experience we’re looking for in a candidate:
- Recent experience in a commercial finance role.
- ACCA, ACA or CIMA Qualified.
- Experience of the insurance sector is preferred, not essential.
- Demonstrable experience in contributing to process change.
- The ability to analyse data and concisely present key messages.
- Strong MS Excel skills & financial modelling skills are essential.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships at all levels.
- Strong planning and organisational skills, as well as excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to work on own initiative and to manage own workload.
