Our client is a well-established, independent insurance brokerage with a strong reputation for delivering exceptional client service.

Due to continued growth, they're looking for a Commercial Account Handler to take ownership of an established SME portfolio within their commercial team.

You'll manage your own renewal book while providing day-to-day support to one of the Directors.

This is primarily a desk-based role, with opportunities to shadow senior colleagues at client meetings as part of your ongoing development.

The Role

As Commercial Account Handler, you'll be responsible for managing your own portfolio of SME commercial clients from renewal through to ongoing servicing, ensuring every client receives a first-class service.

Key responsibilities include

  • Managing approximately 30-50 renewals per month from cradle to grave
  • Handling a range of commercial classes including Commercial Combined, Trades, Contractors, Landlords, Property Packages, Pubs & Restaurants, Liability, Fleet, Professional Indemnity and Cyber
  • Processing mid-term adjustments (MTAs)
  • Servicing existing clients and responding to new business enquiries
  • Proactively contacting every client throughout the renewal process to deliver an outstanding customer experience
  • Preparing manual market presentations where required
  • Supporting one of the Directors with day-to-day administrative duties
  • Working with a wide panel of insurers to secure the best outcomes for clients
  • Approximately 90% of the portfolio is placed via Acturis and e-trade, with around 10% requiring manual market presentations

About You

  • 12-18 months' experience within an SME commercial broking environment
  • Experience handling multiple commercial insurance covers
  • Previous experience using Acturis
  • The confidence and technical ability to manage renewals independently from start to finish
  • Excellent communication and client relationship skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational ability
  • A reliable, proactive and team-focused approach
