We are seeking 2 experienced Account Executives to join a well-established and growing commercial insurance team in Kent, with the backing of a major insurance group while retaining the culture and autonomy of a growing independent business. This role centers on managing an existing book of business, driving client retention, and generating new business opportunities, making it ideal for candidates with a proven track record in commercial insurance and account management.
The Opportunity
- Inherit a £300k income book of business
- Manage 30–45 commercial insurance clients across the UK (primarily South East England)
- Work with businesses ranging from £5m to £70m turnover
- Gain exposure to a diverse portfolio of industries and insurance products
- Flexibility to shape and grow your portfolio based on your expertise
- Typical premiums ranging from £10k to £50k, plus additional smaller policies
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and develop a commercial insurance client portfolio
- Build and maintain strong client relationships to support long-term retention
- Drive client retention strategies during a key transition period
- Identify and convert new business opportunities, including cross-selling and upselling
- Conduct client meetings (in-person and virtual) to strengthen engagement
- Develop and implement effective broking and placement strategies
- Collaborate with Account Handlers and technical specialists
- Act as the primary client-facing Account Executive
Candidate Profile
- Have a proven track record as an Account Executive across multiple industries, including advising on a broad range of insurance covers
- Are confident in client relationship management and stakeholder engagement
- Can ask insightful, challenging questions to uncover client needs
- Have strong negotiation and influencing skills, acting as a trusted Business Advisor to clients
