Senior Pensions Consultant

Salary – up to Β£72,000 (plus benefits & performance related bonus)

Remote – business travel is required

We are supporting a highly respected employee benefits and wellbeing consultancy that is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Pensions Consultant.

This is an opportunity for a commercially minded pensions professional who enjoys building trusted client partnerships, delivering high-quality consulting advice, and growing long-term client relationships.

The business is committed to hiring, developing, and rewarding top-tier consultants and provides strong internal support through dedicated account management teams, allowing consultants to focus on client engagement, advisory quality, and revenue growth.

The core purpose of this role is to act as a trusted adviser to clients, supporting them with the design, governance, and communication of compliant and well-run workplace pension schemes.

You will act as a key relationship owner for a portfolio of clients while also supporting new business activity and cross-selling opportunities across the wider benefits spectrum.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing a personal portfolio of pension consulting clients, delivering advisory and broking services
  • Building and maintaining strong senior-level client relationships, particularly within HR and leadership teams
  • Consulting with clients to understand their business, workforce, and benefits challenges
  • Ensuring all agreed services are delivered within defined scopes and timeframes
  • Identifying and creating opportunities to grow revenue, including services beyond pensions such as flexible benefits, healthcare, wellbeing, international benefits, and general insurance
  • Working collaboratively with internal benefits, wellbeing, and protection teams to deliver joined-up solutions
  • Maintaining expert-level knowledge of the pensions market and regulatory landscape
  • Supporting new business activity through pitches, proposals, and technical input
  • Working closely with pension providers to ensure effective delivery to the client base
  • Contributing to the development and strengthening of the wider health and wellbeing proposition

  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to influence, negotiate, and advise with confidence
  • A consultative mindset with the ability to design solutions tailored to client needs
  • Strong commercial awareness with a focus on protecting and growing revenue
