Are you an experienced Accounts Assistant looking to join a growing, modern business where your ideas are valued and technology is transforming the finance function? As they continue to invest in automation, digital finance and process improvements, they're looking for a proactive Accounts Assistant to become a key member of their finance team. The Role
Reporting to the Financial Controller, you'll be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of day-to-day transactional finance while supporting wider finance projects and continuous improvement initiatives. Key responsibilities include:
- Processing supplier invoices and maintaining an accurate purchase ledger
- Reconciling supplier statements and resolving account queries
- Managing payment provider reconciliations across multiple platforms
- Completing bank reconciliations and supporting weekly payment runs
- Assisting with supplier onboarding and finance administration
- Managing day-to-day credit control and customer account reconciliations
- Supporting month-end activities, including accruals and aged creditor reviews
- Assisting with the rollout of improved purchase order processes
- Identifying opportunities to improve and automate manual finance processes
About You
We're looking for someone who has:
- Previous experience in an Accounts Assistant or Purchase Ledger role
- Strong reconciliation skills and excellent attention to detail
- Experience with supplier accounts and credit control
- Good Excel skills and confidence using finance systems
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
- A proactive attitude with a desire to improve processes
The following would be advantageous, but not essential:
- Experience within retail, e-commerce or a multi-entity business
- Microsoft Dynamics NAV or Business Central experience
- Experience with automated purchase ledger systems
- AAT studies (or an interest in studying, with support available)
- An interest in automation, Power Query or AI tools
