Finance Operations Manager | International Insurance Broker | London
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced qualified accountant to join a leading International Insurance Broker as a key member of their Finance Operations team based in London.
In this pivotal role, you’ll take ownership of day-to-day accounting for all UK-managed operations, driving transparency and delivering high-quality financial insight across the business. You’ll lead and develop a small team while helping shape and enhance financial processes that support both the UK business and wider group initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage, mentor and develop a team of analysts to deliver timely and accurate month-end accounting.
- Oversee all balance sheet reconciliations, financial controls and monthly reporting.
- Coordinate forecasts and budget processes, partnering closely with FP&A.
- Support annual audit and tax engagements, and prepare quarterly VAT returns with the tax team.
- Act as a senior business partner across corporate and middle office functions, engaging regularly with budget holders.
- Lead on business case financials, zero-based forecasting of non-staff costs, and represent finance on steering committees.
- Develop and manage Power BI self-service tools and encourage wider adoption within the team.
- Continuously improve processes through automation and tools like RPA.
About You:
- Qualified accountant with 3+ years’ PQE in a corporate environment
- Solid technical accounting knowledge with broad finance operations experience
- Confident working through forecasting, budgeting cycles, and balance sheet reviews
- Power BI experience
- Strong collaboration and business partnering skills
- Proven experience developing and leading junior team members
