We are seeking a structured and motivated Associate Paraplanner to join our team. This role represents your first formal step into paraplanning, designed to provide critical support to Financial Planners and Senior Paraplanners. You will focus on delivering incremental, low-risk advice for existing clients while gaining hands‑on exposure to highly complex and high‑net‑worth cases.
Key Responsibilities
- Incremental Advice & Analysis
- Manage low-risk advice events including plan top-ups, withdrawals, changes to client income requirements, and investment risk adjustments.
- Investigate and assess existing client financial circumstances to help planners identify client needs and risks.
- Gather external information by requesting data from providers to enable detailed analysis of client positions.
- Draft formal documentation including all written summaries and suitability recommendations for low-risk cases.
- Prepare cashflow models and update existing scenarios to support ongoing advice requirements.
- Execute basic calculations under senior guidance, including Capital Gains Tax (CGT) and pension annual allowances.
- Senior Team & Complex Case Support
- Conduct first-run analysis of incoming Letter of Authority (LOA) information to bring files up to a workable standard.
- Analyse pre-existing arrangements for complex client cases under the explicit direction of a Senior Paraplanner.
- Assist with case packaging including the pre-population of application forms and executing supporting platform actions.
- Compliance & Process Improvement
- Construct compliant advice files and accurately populate internal back‑office recording systems.
- Adhere to business standards and strict turnaround times to ensure an audit‑ready environment.
- Contribute to workflow ideas to improve general business processes, the client journey, and the wider team culture.
Required Skills & Experience
- Foundational Knowledge: A strong understanding of core financial planning concepts, including pensions, investments, and protection products.
- High Attention to Detail: Ability to thoroughly analyse and validate data to ensure client records are flawless.
- Process Discipline: High level of organization with the ability to manage multiple moving tasks simultaneously.
- Collaborative Communicator: Clear, professional communication style to smoothly coordinate with advisers, paraplanners, and administration support teams.
Qualifications and Education
- A demonstrable, active commitment to developing your industry knowledge.
- Working towards the Level 4 Diploma in Financial Planning (or equivalent). Note: Full attainment of the Level 4 Diploma is highly encouraged but is not an absolute pre‑requisite to start in this role.
