Our client is seeking a Data Engineer to join their growing Technology, Data and Innovation team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in developing and optimising the organisation’s use of data and technology, particularly in building a modern data analytics and reporting architecture capable of supporting a wide range of business needs.
As a Data Engineer, you’ll be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining data solutions that enable accurate insight and reporting. You’ll work with modern data tools and cloud technologies, helping to drive innovation and efficiency across the business.
What you’ll be doing:
- Designing and developing the data architecture, tools, and processes to meet evolving business and technical requirements.
- Assisting in the design and build of the data warehouse, integrating data from multiple internal and external sources.
- Managing complex data workflows including source-to-target mappings, data transformations, reconciliation, and error handling.
- Creating and optimising data models (physical and logical) to support analytics and business intelligence.
- Delivering high-quality data solutions for data quality, mapping, metadata management, migration, and reporting.
- Supporting and maintaining existing data platforms and applications.
- Contributing to the development of data standards, procedures, and best practices.
- Participating in the evaluation and selection of new data solutions and technologies.
- Collaborating with senior team members and providing support or cover for other developers when required.
What we’re looking for:
- Proven experience in data engineering within a complex enterprise environment.
- Strong proficiency in Advanced T‑SQL and data warehouse modelling.
- Skilled in Python scripting.
- Hands‑on experience with Azure Data Factory and Airflow.
- Familiarity with Snowflake is highly desirable.
- Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills, with the ability to manage and interpret complex data sets.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with technical and business stakeholders.
